Name: Mary Byrd RN, BSN
Years of Experience:
9 years – graduated NYU in 2015 with my Bachelor’s of science in nursing.
Area of Expertise:
My nursing career began at NYU Langone in Manhattan in the summer of 2015.
Primary focus was on Emergency care/triage followed by Neurology with an emphasis on stroke
recognition, treatment, and ongoing care. I then shifted to a Urology unit with emphasis on surgical and
dialysis patients in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A procedural opportunity, in the GI Lab, opened in
Denver, Colorado where I crafted my IV expertise as well as specializing in sedation and PACU care
requiring both BLS and ACLS certifications. I autonomously performed GI mobility studies with
further specialization into esophageal, pancreatic, stomach, and bowel conditions.
Why I Enjoy Nursing:
My passion is in understanding the body – the state we can put it in to optimize
health and vitality in a world that seems to have more and more chronic illnesses. Preventative care
seems to be a field often left out by the current system – a true fault of capitalism. At the heart of it, I
want to bring awareness, education, and an approach to individuals to make this daunting thing of
health seem more approachable.
What I Hope to Bring to Our Clients:
I hope to bring an awareness and instill autonomy in individuals to take back control of their health. Time spent in front of an actual health care professional is a luxury to many people, one that can be both expensive and disheartening. We want to bring health care professionals to the home, in a one on one setting to assist, educate, and promote health and wellness. I also want to provide a reprieve to the caregiver grief many family members are experiencing. The limited options of what to do with our aging population is a concern to many – in having access to nursing personnel, I hope to allow people to age gracefully in their homes, with a personalized plan and continuity of care by a dedicated staff of phenomenal nurses.
Name: Kim Cornell RN, BSN
Years of Experience:
20+ years of nursing experience encompassing diverse clinical studies and ongoing professional development. Certified for ICU, ACLS, NALS, PALS, and BLS.
Area of Expertise:
At Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, I started my nursing career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where I worked for 10 years. Following the Neonatal ICU, I transitioned to Outpatient Oncology administering chemotherapy and IV infusions, with proficiency training in apheresis. After moving to Dallas, Texas, I worked in outpatient day surgery and became interested in pursuing health, wellness, and preventative medicine. During my time with medspas in the Dallas/DFW region, I received certifications and training to give Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (Bio-T) and several cosmetic injectables. For the past three years, I have worked for mobile IV companies and enjoyed offering patient care in the comfort of their homes. I have strong expertise with IV insertions, central lines, ports, administering IV infusions, blood and stem cell infusions, blood draws, and Intramuscular (IM) injections.
Why I Enjoy Nursing:
From a young age, I wanted to be a registered nurse to care for patients by helping and supporting their well-being as they navigate health challenges. My life experiences have taught me the value of nursing, education, and advocating for patients in need. In my work, I uphold integrity, empathy, honesty, and professionalism to provide the highest standard of excellence in care. “Sometimes I inspire my patients, more often, they inspire me.”
What I Hope to Bring to Our Clients:
I hope to offer my expertise, confidence, and diverse skillsets in treating clients for Taking Back Health. I am committed to fostering trust, quality patient care, and effective communication to ensure I positively impact patients and leave them feeling better than before they received my treatment.

Name: Austin Deal, Firefighter Paramedic
Years of Experience:
Over a decade! – I have been with Carrollton Fire Rescue since 2013.
Area of Expertise:
For over ten years I have responded to emergency 911 calls that involve house fires, traffic accidents, critical injuries and illnesses of all kinds. Being in the field as a first responder has made me an expert at quickly assessing a situation and effectively taking action to mitigate it. I’m certified and highly experienced in applying basic and advance life support during true life threatening events. In addition, a major part of the career is educating the public about safety practices as a way to prevent these traumatic events from happening in the first place. I am extremely passionate about health and wellness, particularly ways to support our body to heal and thrive naturally. I strive to help my patients find answers to solve problems and improve their health.
Why I Enjoy Fire/ EMS:
When someone calls 911 it is often one of their darkest days. I can think of no greater honor and no greater calling than to be a light in that darkness. Being able to save a life, deliver a baby, or any other challenge a shift brings is the most rewarding thing I can ever imagine. Whether I am starting an IV or sitting with a patient to make sure they are healthy and safe, just having the opportunity to extend a high level of care and expertise to my patients is what I strive for everyday.
What I Hope to Bring to Our Clients:
First and foremost I aim to bring trust to my clients. I want every person I see to feel safe, confident and comfortable with any therapy we do. I treat all my patients with the same care I would expect for my own family members or close friends. Any challenge big or small, I aim to do everything in my power to help, if there is a question I can’t answer I will take the time to dig for the solution. I am passionate about being advocate for every patient and help break things down so they feel at ease with any situation they are dealing with.
Looking forward to meeting you!

Years of Experience:
Dedicated and passionate RN with over 20+ years of experience
Area of Expertise:
I began my career in 2003 in Longview, Texas. I worked in home health for 7-10 years with mostly geriatric patients where I developed a program for CHF/COPD to help keep patients out of the hospital. I then moved to same day surgery with floating to ER and worked with patients of all ages. My job consisted of getting patients ready for surgery which included starting IV, pre-operative medications and then recovery of all patients that were not being admitted after their surgery. In the ER I worked with all ages of patients and many different levels of care. For the last 7+ years I have been in case management and clinical research. In clinical research I start IV, infuse medications, draw blood and process through a centrifuge, EKG’s and documentation of findings and reports from the subject.
Why I Enjoy Fire/ EMS:
I love nursing and seeing the positive outcomes that I can be a part of and knowing that I am making a difference in healthcare and in each individual patient. I will always advocate for my patients while providing quality care.
What I Hope to Bring to Our Clients:
To live the best and healthy life using a holistic individualized plan of care with the input of each client. I love that with Taking Back Health I can meet the client in the comfort of their own home, office or hotel and bring them education and support in their time of need or during their healthy lifestyle journey.
I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!
